Intimidated by God's Blessing of Others
Even though Saul had enjoyed God’s blessing himself in the past, he was not secure enough to rejoice when others received that same blessing. Saul became afraid of David (1 Sam. 18:6-16). In fact, David became his enemy simply because God had given him success.
Father. Help us to rejoice with those who rejoice – to celebrate with those who experience success. Help us not to become jealous of them, but to support them, pray for them and bless them so that they might experience continued success in the future. Amen.
